For a long time, we have been told of the benefits of Vitamin C for the skin.
How and when should we use it, is the key question!
Although vitamin C is a brilliant ingredient to correct and really help to “undo” signs of ageing – its brilliance lies in the fact that it is a powerfully preventative.
That’s right! Preventative! Many studies have shown that vitamin C has three key benefits as an antioxidant ingredient:
- Collagen – Vitamin C is a key precursor to stimulating Collagen production in your skin’s dermis – where collagen is actually produced. (Drinking Collagen cannot physically create more collagen)
- Capillaries – traditionally those with delicate skin conditions worry that the acidity of Vitamin C can cause active sensations in the skin. It is now proven that Vitamin C actually helps to strengthen the skin’s capillary network – thus helping to actually minimise inflammation, and therefore discomfort, heat and redness.
- Clarity – regardless of whatever protocol we are using in order to address pigmentation – a serious part of this is using a validated Vitamin C product to target excess melanin production.
Therefore, Vitamin C is a daily essential for all skin types; ages and conditions. It prevents against future damage. Vitamin C also targets pollution particles attacking the skin – something that your sunscreen cannot do… and it also has been proven to do some great things for your sunscreen.
Here’s some interesting information for you:
C E FERULIC (SkinCeuticals) – is the number one selling Vitamin C serum globally. It is proven to activate your cells’ own photo-protective action by eight times, compared to untreated skin!
This super-serum is also proven to minimise redness in the skin; reduce wrinkle depth and minimise oxidative markers in the skin! Truly exceptional!
Our other star Vitamin C serum is that of Dermalogica: BioLumin-C Serum. This brilliant serum contains a proprietary blend of both acidic and non-acidic Vitamin C. Combined with Lactic Acid, it also refines and exfoliates dead cell build up, and Chia seed oil hydrates, nourishes and softens the skin!
